Coming to Dayton on Thursday, March 20, 2025, the Centerville-Washington Park District is hosting the Spring Equinox Celebration. With floral-themed activities and events, attendees can harness their inner green thumb.
Hosted at the Smith House Entrance at Bill Yeck Park on 2230 E. Centerville Station Rd. Come prepared for family-friendly fun and a jovial time in the sun.
The spring, or vernal equinox, is when the northern hemisphere officially ushers in spring—a unique event when day and night are split almost equally. Twelve hours of the day provides a warm and happy contrast from the previous few months of being estranged from the sun.

The Centerville-Washington Park District is hosting this celebration as a fun way to get local Daytonians back outside and engage with the community. From 4 to 5:30 p.m., people will be able to participate in various spring-themed arts and crafts and storytime, and participants will receive native wildflower seeds to take home.
All ages are welcome; however, no pets may attend. The furry friends will have to wait this one out for the sake of the freshly made garden beds. The Park District asks that people wishing to attend register beforehand so that they have a clear idea of how many are attending. Registered participants will receive a cancellation notice in case of poor weather. To register and for more information, visit cwpd.recdesk.
There is no reason to wait. The sun is shining on Dayton again, and nature is waking up to the warmth of spring. Do not sit inside and let it pass by. Come out and enjoy the weather, neighbors, and much more at the Spring Equinox Celebration.
