In August Tristan Chaput, program coordinator for Tartan Tops announced that students would have access to a new space. The Tartan lounge is a new place where students can de-stress, unwind, study or socialize with classmates. The room itself features a main workspace for curricular activities and a computer lab. This portion of the space will be used for students to socialize with their fellow classmates or to work on projects. This new addition to the Tops program is another reason how Sinclair is able to provide students with the resources they need. Adrain Fosuh, a student enrolled in Tartan Tops says that the lounge is a great place to be able to work on homework or waiting in between classes.
“I think that it is a very good lounge. You can interact, do your homework or if you’re just waiting for class you can wait in here. We all come together then we find a good solution.”
This newly dedicated space is able to give students a place to relax or study. There are so many different activities that students can do apart from just needing a stretch. In fact, that is why the lounge was created from the ground up. It is because of students that Tops is able to provide a space where they are able to find different ways to decompress such as working on a puzzle as a group.
“Yes! I would because I think that if they want to get their work done, they can. If they just want to relax or want to be in their own space they can do it here.
This space means so much to the students and faculty of Tartan Tops and gives them the opportunity to make friends and grow as a community. It is anticipated that in the next couple of months the space will be utilized more throughout the semester.
