Dr. Lisa Mahle-Grisez, Associate Dean and Chief Academic Officer of the University of
Cincinnati’s Clermont campus, has been named as Sinclair’s Associate Provost and will
officially begin her new role May 8.

Mahle-Grisez was once part of the Sinclair staff in 1996 where she worked in the English
Department as adjunct faculty and eventually became Assistant Professor in 2010. Afterwards,
she became Chair of the English Department and Dean of Liberal Arts, Communication, and
Social Sciences.

Those achievements are merely scratching the surface of what Mahle-Grisez has accomplished. She has won the SOCHE Teaching Excellence Award in 2012, served on the Dayton Children’s Hospital Women’s Board, completed the LEAD Clermont community program (2023), the American Association of Community Colleges Executive Leadership Institute (2021), Future Leaders Institute (2019), the Women’s Institute for Leadership Development (2018), and the Next Generation Leadership Academy (2017). She is also a SOCHE Teaching Excellence Award faculty winner (2012).

Mahle-Grisez will be replacing former Associate Provost Dr. Jennifer Kostic who had recently been named Sinclair’s Vice President of Organizational Development.

Her new role will have Mahle-Grisez providing senior administrative oversight and supporting Sinclair’s Human Resource Department.

Although the Clarion was unable to reach out to Mahle-Grisez for a personal statement, she went on record stating, “Like many of our students, I navigated my higher ed journey as a first-generation student without a compass. The most worthwhile educational experiences occurred when faculty made a connection with me – whether to offer encouragement, understanding, or even critique. My goal is to afford the same experience to students whenever possible and to support faculty in doing the same. I see exciting developments in the future as we continue to serve Sinclair students, and I look forward to working again with the passionate and dedicated team of faculty and staff at Sinclair.”
