Arcade to Hold The Contemporary Dayton’s 28th Annual Art Auction

On Friday, April 29, The Contemporary Dayton’s 28th Annual Art Auction will be held in the Dayton Arcade’s Rotunda. There will be a silent auction along with a Live Auction in The Co’s adjacent stunning new galleries. This event will be hosted from 6-10 p.m. and will have free parking at Reibold Garage.

Due to COVID, this is the first time in a couple of years they will be holding the auction in person as opposed to virtual.

Pieces of art from local Dayton artists will start bidding at $100. It is the biggest fundraiser of the year and the money raised is used to aid and advance artists in Dayton and the surrounding communities. The Co-Annual Art Auction has been previously called “the most eclectic art party in town.”

Participating artists include some of the region’s most notable, including recent exhibiting artists at The Co – Willis “Bing” Davis, Amy Deal, Heather Jones, Katherine Kadish, Amy Powell, Terry Welker, and many more. The Live Auction will feature eight artists who created new work, especially for this year’s event.

Not only will there be over 75 beautiful pieces of art to enjoy, but there will also be 24 different local food vendors and live music, made possible by over 40 volunteers.

“We are excited to bring back our in-person Silent Art Auction after presenting it virtually the past two years. We invite you to sip, snack, browse, and bid often with friends and artists under the Arcade’s spectacular Rotunda at our new home,” said Eva Buttacavoli, Executive Director of The Co.

Heather Jones: There’s Something Magic About You

Mobile bidding is free, however, you must go online to register to do so. The prices of this event are $75 for members and $90 for non-members. If you plan on buying tickets at the door the day of the event, they will be $100.

This event is sponsored by Dayton Children’s Hospital and Dayton Daily News. To preview artwork online for free, purchase tickets and sponsorships, and register to bid, go to  codayton.org/auction.
