This spring, Sinclair students have the opportunity to attend several upcoming musical events. This includes “Fusion,” conducted by Andrew Huffman and “Assimilation,” which will be conducted by Edward F. Protzman.
“Assimilation” will be the first concert held, taking place on Monday, April 25, at 7 p.m. This show will have free admission, and will be held in Building 2’s Blair Hall Theatre.
The Blair Hall Theatre holds many of Sinclair’s musical events, such as the recent “The Lightning Thief – The Peter Jackson Musical”, which ran from April 1-9.
“Assimilation” will be playing works by famous composers including Richard Strauss, David Holsinger, William Byrd, and several others. The event will run for roughly two hours, ending at approximately 9 p.m .
The other event, “Fusion,” is being performed by the Sinclair Chorale, which is composed of Sinclair students and those passionate about singing. The Sinclair Website gives further details about the Chorale:
“Singers have the opportunity to experience varied choral ensemble experiences, styles, languages, and a wide choral repertoire to enhance students’ lives and future professional music careers.”
Unlike “Assimilation,” this event will be taking place at the Hawker United Church of Christ, a church in Beavercreek. However, this event will still be free and open to the public. “Fusion” promises to play a wide range of music from a diverse set of cultures all around the world.
These concerts will be great opportunities for those interested in the arts, especially since the Covid-19 severely reduced the amount of live shows people are able to attend. For more information on this event, students can check out Sinclair’s Calendar of events.
