“Eating Cars” one-day screening at the Neon

Oct. 6, 7:30 p.m.

Location: The Neon movie theater

Details: Take a noir-inspired and surreal trip through L.A. as Max, a failed writer, prepares to leave the city where her dreams died. On Wednesday, Oct. 6, Wright State Film School grad, Trevor Hollen, will be presenting his award-winning feature film debut, EATING CARS – in conjunction with its US and UK release. After the screening, there will be a Q&A with Trevor. 

Dayton Glow Ultimate Frisbee

Thursday nights, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., Oct. 7 – Nov. 11

Details: At GCSS we take Ultimate Frisbee and put a major twist on it! It is played in the dark on a field completely lined with hundreds of LED lights. Every player wears an LED running vest and armbands while tossing an LED Frisbee. Whether you have a full team or are just looking to sign up as an individual to meet some new, fun people you can get involved with. We would love for you to join our community, come play ultimate!

Sinclair Theater Presents “She Kills Monsters”

Wild Yoga: Connecting Your Yoga Practice With The Natural World

Location: Possum Creek Park

Details: Come spend an afternoon with Katie Thimons to take your practice out of the studio and into the great outdoors. During this group hike, you’ll experience mindful walking and meditative movement in one of the many beautiful trail locations Dayton has to offer. Learn about the benefits of eco-therapy, shin-rin yoku (forest bathing), how to utilize technology to connect to nature, and meditation techniques to use beyond this session. 

Dayton Gifted Artist Festival

Location: 431 W. Washington St. 

Details: Festival created to showcase and nurture the diverse, innovative culture that exists in Dayton, Ohio. By showcasing artists with a deep appreciation of the musical and cultural history that exists within the city, the festival gives artists the chance to “network” and create a stronger community — and establish Dayton as the beautiful, artistic powerhouse that it is.

Details: The Wright Brothers 2021 Cycling Classic presented by Kettering Health Network is a fundraising cycling event for local nonprofits to raise money and bring awareness to their important missions. Details: Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks unite communities to support each other by honoring those touched by the disease and raise awareness and funds to save lives from breast cancer.

Community Job Fair

Details: This job fair will be unique and embodies a culture of celebration! We will have various resources and services onsite, in addition to on-the-spot interviews! 

Dayton Dia de Muertos Parade and Celebration 

Oct. 24, 12:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Details: The event begins at Fifth and Jefferson from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm, where we will have volunteers available to paint your face with a traditional sugar skull design! The parade will kick off from Fifth and Jefferson at 2:00 pm, traveling through the Oregon District, crossing Keowee, and continuing to Dutoit St. The route is just under a mile, and all are welcome to join the parade at any point. 

Pumpkin Glow on Stoddard Ave.

Fall at the Fairgrounds Craft Show

Location: Clark County Fairgrounds
