Hidden Gems – The Clarion

The Clarion is the student newspaper for Sinclair Community College. Founded in 1977, the newspaper has strived to be the voice of the Sinclair community since. Current advisor Jessica Graue took over as our advisor in 2018.

Instead of doing weekly newspapers this year, they are doing a monthly full-color magazine. The first edition of the magazine will be released on Friday, Oct. 1, and will feature lots of new content including local news, a word search, and other fun activities, as well as an advice column.

If students aren’t able to come to other campus locations, the articles will be published on their website as usual after the magazine is released. Students can also check for updates on their social media accounts: Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

“We are also adding in student art and submissions from any student here at Sinclair,” said Graue.

This is to get more students involved in the Clarion and to show off the talent we have at Sinclair. If students would like to submit a piece of writing or artwork to be featured in a future magazine edition, please email them at clarion.central@gmail.com with “Magazine Submission” as the subject.

When The Clarion says “For Students, By Students” they mean it; all their staff are current Sinclair students. If a student wants to work for The Clarion, they must be taking 6 credit hours and have at least a 2.0 GPA. Show some Tartan pride and apply here!
