As the Fall season picks up and the weather gets colder, more people begin to flock to the movie theater to check out some of the newest releases.
This weekend, there is plenty check out for whatever mood you are in. There is some comedy, some horror, documentary and many others.
Halloween brings plenty of horror and supernatural films if that’s what you’re feeling. “Ouija: Origin of Evil,” is a horror film about a group of friends who accidentally unleash evil that forces them to confront their most terrifying fears. It is a sequel to 2014’s “Ouija” that opened number one at the box office.
“31” is another horror film coming up about five carnival workers who are kidnapped and forced to play a twisted game of life or death and they must fight for their lives for the next 12 hours.
Zach Galifianakis and Isla Fisher star in “Keeping up with the Joneses” where they find that their gorgeous new neighbors are covert operatives. It was originally supposed to come out in April, however, it was pushed back until October 21.
There is also “Tyler Perry’s Boo! A Madea Halloween” to give some humor. Madea spends her Halloween fighting off killers, paranormal poltergeists, ghosts, ghouls and zombies all while keeping an eye on a group of misbehaving teens. Because what else would Madea do on Halloween?
Tom Cruise has returned with “Jack Reacher: Never Go Back.” This time Jack Reacher is going back to his old military base in Virginia to take a woman to dinner who is now the commanding officer. By the time he gets there, she has been arrested, and Reacher finds himself being charged with pummeling one guy and fathering a child with a woman. He can’t remember either transgression but gets to the bottom of it.
“I’m Not Ashamed” is faith-based movie inspired by a true story. It tells the story of Rachel Joy Scott, a student at Columbine High School who was the first of 13 people who died on April 20, 1999. She was singled out for her Christian faith. The movie is based on her journals. It stars Korie Robertson and her daughter Sadie Robertson from Duck Dynasty.
“American Pastoral” is a Drama film about a man whose daughter disappears after being accused of committing a violent crime. Swede, the father, dedicates himself to finding his daughter, but what he finds shakes him to his core, forcing him to look beneath the surface. The movie stars Ewan McGregor, Jennifer Connelly and Dakota Fanning.
Whatever you may be in the mood for, the theater has you covered this weekend, so grab your wallet, get your popcorn and settle in for a movie.
