TV shows this summer

Are you looking for something new to watch on TV this summer when it’s not nice and sunny outside? Here are the top TV shows that are hitting the screens this summer.
Fear the Walking Dead: If you are into the zombie apocalypse world and have been a huge fan of The Walking Dead, then this show will be for you this summer. Robert Kirkman (show’s writer/creator) has not given an exact release date on his spin-off show just yet only saying, “That it will be here in August if things go right”. The spin-off of The Walking Dead is going to start as a prequel to the show everyone knows. Later on the intended prequel will turn into its own standalone series, so anyone can jump right into the series and understand the story. We will see how the world got filled with ‘Walkers’ foreshadowing all the events that lead up to the outbreak. The show will take place in Los Angeles, which is a highly different realm from Atlanta. We will be following the life of Travis, who is a divorced school teacher and a counselor named Madison who has a two troubled teenagers. The show will air on AMC sometime late summer.

Bullseye: If you get into reality TV competition shows, then this one is for you. Twilight star, Kellan Lutz and Godfrey are hosting this dangerous competition. Each week eight, contestants will be battling it out to win a grand prize of $50,000. The goal of the game is to land on the bullseye or target as close as you can before another contestant lands in the dead center of the target or closer to it than you. This show aired on Fox, May 27.
The Whispers: This show is centered on a little girl named Harper. When Harper gets a new friend, her mom becomes skeptical that she cannot see her daughter’s new friend. She thinks nothing of it besides that her daughter just has an imaginary friend. This paranormal show is anything but just an imaginary friend. Harper plays games with her friend. She also calls it a “he” leaving the viewers wondering if she can actually see the ghost. This poltergeist plays games through flickering lights, other children in this show also know of him. What would you do if you found out your child’s friend wasn’t imaginary, but you couldn’t see or touch them? This show aired on ABC June 1 at 8:00 p.m.
Zoo: Based off of a James Patterson book about a young zoologist named Jackson Oz, this show comes to life as Jackson uncovers vicious animal attacks in his local town. This show is a thriller that will keep you guessing as Jackson turns to his late father because he had many theories about events like this happening in their town. It’s a race against time for Jackson to figure out what is causing all these deadly attacks before it’s too late for the whole human race. Show is to air on CBS June 30 at 9:00 p.m.
Humans: A United Kingdom/United States show that revolves around a human-like robot. This robot was made to be a servant to humans, but they never expected it to change human lives forever. This Sci-Fi show will take you into the future either making people think robot-like humans are for better or for worse. We will wait to have to see if robots take over the world until June 28 on AMC.
Stitchers: Ever wonder what it would be like to secretly work for the government? Kristen Clark is about to find out, but not willingly. The government takes Kristen against her will because they have been watching her and know she would be excellent for their undercover job. Kristen is assigned to become a criminal investigator, but not in your normal FBI way. She will be linked to a machine with a deceased person being forced back through that person’s memories and past to uncover how they were murdered and who killed these people. By doing this, they hope to have justice served to those innocent victims before their murderers go to the grave with their host. This show aired on ABC Family on June 2.
Mr. Robot: A man needs help hacking into a computer and comes across the perfect person to do the job for him, Elliot. Elliot has his own struggles as he battles with an anti-social disease. The only way Elliot knows how to communicate is through hacking other people’s computers. This show will air in the United States on June 24.
Scream: The classic psychopath movie is making a comeback this summer. It starts with a series years after a tragedy at Lakewood High School. It all starts when a group of friends decide to make a YouTube video and it goes viral. The town of Lakewood is about to have its darkest past come back to life—the killer is back for revenge after seeing the viral video. This show will air on MTV on June 30.
Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll: The viewers will be following the life of a middleaged rocker who always wanted to live the lifestyle of the rich and famous, but never made it. He goes by the name Johnny Rock and he’s tired of being a zero in life, but continues to try and live his dream as a rock star. This show will air on FX on July 16.

Returning to TV

Pretty Little Liars: The liars are returning for their sixth season on ABC Family this summer. The last season’s ending revealed the shows biggest and longest running secret about “A” being a mysterious man named Charlie DiLaurentis. The girls were also surprised to find out that their longtime friend and enemy, Mona, had never been dead. “This season is about to be the darkest one yet,” said Sasha Pieterse (Allison). The thrilling TV show returned June 2 on ABC Family at 8:00 p.m.
Orange Is The New Black: The show is returning to Netflix this summer for its third season after it did well with high views from its past two seasons. The viewers will be rejoining Piper and the group of ladies in the women’s prison. Last season, the viewers were left a little in the air unsure if newcomer Vee had died when hit by the van in the season finale episode. Also, we will be seeing Alex return to the prison. Jason Biggs (Larry) will not be coming back for this season as we watched in the previous seasons Larry and Piper’s marriage crumbled to pieces after she checked herself into the prison. The comedy will return to Netflix on June 12.
Face Off: The special effects makeup competition show is returning for its ninth season. Contestants will battle out their movie makeup skills to win $100,000 and a full year’s supply of makeup from Alcone. See who has what it takes to make it in movie magic this season. The show will air on Syfy July 28.
