Your Voice: Will eLearn be better than ANGEL?

Erika Weir
Social Work Major
“I’m okay with it. I think there’s a bunch of flaws in the system. From what I’ve heard, it’s going to make the professors be more on top of working with the system and updating our grades, so they have to input that information. My teachers have told me that it’s really easy to switch over to it. . . Of course it’s going to have flaws, but it would be better if the professors worked with us more instead of just not giving us our grades. I think that was the biggest issue in ANGEL.”

Vanessa Ras
Liberal Arts Major
“[ANGEL] is horrible. I can’t get into half of my classes. I’ve worked with ANGEL now for over a year and it’s not cutting it. It is too slow, I can tell it’s too much for what the school can use, and blackboard would be much simpler. Most people are trained in blackboard, and people have used blackboard many times before. It’s been around a lot longer than ANGEL. So that would be the best answer I can give.”

Mike Profitt
Criminal Justice Major
“I’m so used to ANGEL, I’d rather just keep it the same. I haven’t really checked out anything on eLearn. I’d rather just stick to the basics, that’s how I feel about it. I’ve heard other things about it. I just started coming here last semester, so I’m fairly new to it. I hope it’s better. I mean, only time will tell. I think ANGEL is pretty easy to use, myself. I just have to look into eLearn to compare them.”

Devin Routson
Business Administration Major
“It’s probably a good idea. ANGEL has been pretty buggy for various different classes that I’ve had to use it for. It’s had a lot of issues, a lot of different problems that they’ve encountered. I think it would be nice to have a fresh interface to work with, especially something that’s more updated. Maybe it won’t have as many issues to deal with, so it’s a good idea, actually.”

Alison McQueen
Radiology Major
“I’m nervous about it, just because I’ve gotten so adjusted to ANGEL. I really like ANGEL. I’ve never had any problems with it, but I’ve heard people have had a lot of problems with it, and that’s why they’re switching over. I’m just nervous about running a new system and switching over. I like how it’s set up. . . I don’t think it’ll be worse, I just think it’ll be hard adjusting to a new system, that’s all.”

Kevin McCartney
Medical Billing and Coding Major
“I think anything would be better than ANGEL. ANGEL breaks down way too often, there’s too many glitches, it’s always hung up, sometimes it freezes, and I’ve had it happen in a test. There’s got to be something better. . . I would sure hope it would be better, I couldn’t see it being worse. I don’t think it could. I look forward to the new system. Anything would be better.”
