We have debated about what to write for the Clarion Consensus. Typically, we sit down and brainstorm current events and issues going on in the world and attempt to tie it into Sinclair related events.
But recently, what has been on our hearts is the library. We believe the Sinclair Community College library is the heart of Sinclair because of it’s desire to keep students thriving.
We are amazed at how wonderful and friendly the staff are and how well they appear to get along.
What makes us happy is the fact that you can request a book from OhioLink and have it shipped to Sinclair’s location from another college. Within two to three days, the book is ready to be picked up.
Not only that but we are pleased that the library is the host of the Tutoring and Learning Center, which has devoted its time to help tutor students in subjects such as math and English.
These things are often overlooked, but it all boils down to one truth: Sinclair’s library to us should be labeled the heart because of how well it takes care of its students.
The library has helped numerous students succeed, learn and grow.
Think of all those English papers we had to write. Think of all the times we had difficult questions and no one knew the answers. A reference librarian could easily pull up the information and keep us motivated to complete the research.
Our hearts go out to the Sinclair library because of its never-ending desire to help students succeed.
To the IT staff, we can’t leave you out. On numerous occasions, the staff has been there to meet our demands and answer questions. A special thanks goes out to Michael Hinkle for his dedication and taking the time to help students with their Access homework, even when he could have walked away.
The library is the heart
of Sinclair. We can’t say this enough!
It is the only place on campus where you can have Starbucks while studying or listen to the beautiful sounds of the choral department while researching a paper.
We don’t say this enough, but thanks Sinclair library for all you do, because it is greatly appreciated!
