On Wednesday, Feb. 9, the Student Leadership Association (SLA) will host their annual Valentine’s Day event called “The Dating Game.”
“The Dating Game is a game in which one contestant will be seated on one side of a curtain, and would ask questions to three contestants sitting on the other side of the curtain,” Sherita Jackson, SLA assistant, said. “The questions are designed to help the main contestant pick which of the three he or she would like to go on a date with.”
While the contestants in The Dating Game are confidential, Jackson said, “You have to come to the event to find out who the participating contestants are.”
During the event, a variety of clubs will have tables and students will be able to meet the clubs, and also see what kind of clubs Sinclair has to offer, Jackson said.
“It is important that the clubs are at this event to show other students the types of organizations that Sinclair has to offer, to students who are looking to get involved.”
The event will take place in the stage area of Building 8 between 11a.m. and 3p.m.
Everyone is welcome to come, Jackson said and SLA will be selling goodie bags, teddy bears, candy and flowers.
“This event is to show that SLA can be fun and entertaining and it can possibly be a much needed break for many students,” she said.
During the event, Marriage Works will be there to offer relationship advice in a booth, Jackson said.
According to their website, Marriage Works’ goal is for couples to learn how to strengthen and improve their relationships by using relationship skills, so that their relationships are the best they can be.
“Events like these keep our students engaged in learning outside of the classroom, and that is important to the overall growth of a student regardless of age,” Jackson said.
