The Student Leadership Association at Sinclair Community College wants to take you back to the ‘80s and ‘90s with a house party on Wednesday Jan. 26 from 12–2 p.m. at the stage area in the Basement of Building 8.
“SLA wants to recreate for the Sinclair students the feeling of the ‘80s house party. Basically, people dress up and just have lots of fun,” said Kolita Hollins event coordinator.
The department is taking it back old school with a best-dressed contest and a beat box performer, Hollins said. They encourage the Sinclair community to come to their house party in their best ‘80s and ‘90s attire. Also, there will be karaoke, music and dancing.
During the fall and beginning of the winter quarters, SLA has coordinated several events with the purpose to educate the Sinclair Community. This event is a pause in the SLA schedule to have fun and relax, Hollins said.
SLA wants to give the Sinclair community the opportunity to take a break from their hectic and busy schedules. Students, faculty and staff can unwind with good music and an enjoyable atmosphere, Hollins said
“Rather than just go to sit on the hallway between classes and talk, you can come participate and have a little fun. That’s what it is for to blow some steam,” she said.
