Summer has ended once again in the same fashion as it always has: with good memories and some scorching days that make some of us wish for cool breezes and autumn leaves.
Whether you are a student who is dreading your classes or excited to start a new year, one thing is certain, school has begun and the Clarion is prepared to fill you in on all of the things you need to know.
We lost some great journalists last year, but several of us have returned plus we have added some new faces that I have a lot of faith in and am thrilled to be working with. Joseph Stueve, the former editor of the Clarion, left us with a solid, high quality newspaper that we only expect to get better.
While the Clarion staff did enjoy their summer, hopefully you did as well, we have been working hard to get ready for this year and along the way have learned some amazing things about Sinclair Community College. We are all excited to learn and grow as a staff and I want to encourage you to take that ride with us.
We are passionate about the newspaper and are ready to work hard to give you the most important as well as fun information about our college. As editor, I promise the Clarion will be the voice for the student body and employees of the college.
To uphold that promise, we will be in frequent contact with the president’s office to ensure that you are updated on current events and important information. We will also keep in touch with faculty and staff in every department, from the cafeteria to the learning centers.
There will be a fresh paper out every week and the entire edition will be posted on our website at www.sinclairclarion.com. One of our goals this year is to keep the website going strong by putting breaking news, photos, videos and much more on it frequently.
This is your newspaper, written for you, by fellow students and given to you free so please provide feedback and let us know the information you want or need to know about. You can find us on Facebook by searching Clarion Press, Twitter @sinclairclarion or in person by coming to our office in Building 8 Room 027.
We are also always looking for qualified staff so please feel free to fill out an application located on our door if you are interested.
Welcome Tartans to the 2010-11 Sinclair Community College school year. We wish you a successful, rewarding year and look forward to providing you access to the most recent news at our college.
