As if dominating the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference tournament wasn’t enough, the Sinclair Tartan Pride baseball team swept the individual end of the year awards.
Catcher Corey Throckmorton took home the OCCAC Player of the Year award after hitting .474 with 3 home runs and 24 RBIs in 13 conference games. Jeremiah Kerns won the OCCAC Pitcher of the Year award going 4-0 with a 2.41 ERA and 21 strikeouts in three OCCAC starts. Coach Steve Dintaman earned his third OCCAC Coach of the Year award after leading the Tartan Pride to a 42-8 record and their second straight OCCAC title.
The Tartan Pride also led the 2010 All-Conference Team with five players nominated: Kerns, Byron Johann, Justin Marrero, Zach Stewart and Chuck Calhoun. Lakeland Community College had four players named to the team, Owens Community College with three and Cuyahoga Community College with two.
