After sweeping through the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference baseball tournament, the Sinclair Tartan Pride now looks to keep its momentum rolling through regionals.
On May 1, the Tartan Pride (42-8) clinched the conference tournament with a win over Owens Community College, 9-1, at Athletes in Action in Xenia. The win marks Sinclair’s fourth consecutive trip to the NJCAA Regional Tournament. The Tartan Pride, ranked No. 6 in the nation, won all three games to finish undefeated in the double-elimination tournament.
Zach Stewart led the way going 5-for-10 through the weekend with 3 home runs and 9 RBIs. Stewart blasted a grand slam in the championship win over Owens.
Sinclair now heads to Battle Creek, Mich. where the Tartan Pride look to earn their first World Series berth in school history. Sinclair is expected to have a No. 1 seed in the South bracket. The regional tournament is scheduled begin on May 14 through May 16.
