Sinclair hosts DoD Acquisition Insight Conference

Sinclair Community College is hosting the annual Department of Defense Acquisition Insight Conference on April 20 and 21 in the Ponitz Center.  The conference is sponsored by the Defense Acquisition University Alumni Association.

Described as “a high profile event” on my.Sinclair, the conference “provides a one-stop opportunity for the Defense Acquisition Workforce in the Midwest Region, including WPAFB and the surrounding area, to be updated on the latest AT&L hot topics, workshops and training targeted to acquisition professional requirements,” according to Defense Acquisition University’s website.  The site also states that up to 16 hours of continuous learning credits are available for attendees.

Topics include the role of intelligence in acquisition, government property, acquisition and optimizing energy usage for weapon systems contracting for development efforts and more.

The conference has many federal employees featured as speakers.  Some speakers are Dr. Ashton B. Carter, Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics; Gary Bliss, Director, Performance Assessments and Root Cause Analyses, Office of the Secretary of Defense; Lieutenant General Marc E. Rogers, USAF, Inspector General of the Air Force and Frank J. Anderson, Jr., President, Defense Acquisition University.

Event sponsors include Wright State University Institute of Defense Studies and Education, Siemens, Boeing and Sinclair Community College.  Sinclair is the only diamond level sponsor.
