A brief argument over the hilarity of “Christmas Vacation” got me to thinking: what are the best Christmas movies of my generation?
I decided to put a top ten list together and post one movie per day until Thursday, Dec. 24. The only guideline for the list is the film must be released no earlier than 1980.
3. Home Alone (1990)
If you are between the ages of 20 to 30, chances are you’ve seen “Home Alone” an average of 72 times. The film brings to life every kids dream, at least for a few days.
We all know the story: family forgets kid, kid has a blast and kid eventually misses his family. Kid (played by Macaulay Culkin) also has to fight off two low-life thieves that proclaim themselves to be “The Wet Bandits,” played by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern.
I still remember trying to load my house up with traps and sabotage around every corner when I was younger.
“Home Alone” is a fabulous holiday movie that proclaims it’s difficult to enjoy Christmas without family. Slap stick humor is great, too.
