A brief argument over the hilarity of “Christmas Vacation” got me to thinking: what are the best Christmas movies of my generation?
I decided to put a top ten list together and post one movie per day until Thursday, Dec. 24. The only guideline for the list is the film must be released no earlier than 1980.
4. How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)
I can’t imagine another actor who could portray the spirit and cruelty of Dr. Seuss’ Grinch character more than Jim Carrey.
In the live-action film, director Ron Howard brings to life Whoville like never before. Howard brings the audience along as we discover to reasons behind the Grinch’s hatred for the Christmas holiday and his wild personality.
The Grinch is an extremely imaginative film that must be seen by all. Nothing beats the original, but “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” is a worthy advisory.
