A brief argument over the hilarity of “Christmas Vacation” got me to thinking: what are the best Christmas movies of my generation?
I decided to put a top ten list together and post one movie per day until Thursday, Dec. 24. The only guideline for the list is the film must be released no earlier than 1980.
6. The Santa Clause (1994)
Who would have thought the killing of Santa Clause would bring so much joy?
Tim Allen stars as Scott Calvin, a single dad who doesn’t receive much love from his son until he disposes of Santa. Calvin then must step into Santa’s sleigh as he slowly become Mr. Clause to continue his legacy on Christmas Eve.
Weight gain, beard growth and grey hairs included.
This movie gets little love, but I always enjoyed it as a child. Tim Allen serves as a good leading man in this comedy for both kids and adults. I never caught the sequels because I didn’t want the original to be tarnished in any way.
