NBA Game of the Night — Oct. 27

Each night, the Clarion will choose the top game on the NBA calendar and select a winner. Keep checking out our pick every day, and let us know what you think in our comment section below.

Boston (0-0) at Cleveland (0-0), 7 p.m. on TNT

What better way for the NBA season to tip-off than for the Celtics to battle the Cavaliers in Shaquille O’Neal’s debut wearing a Cleveland uniform. These teams should end up as two of the best in the league by the end of the season.

Boston gets back Kevin Garnett tonight and welcomes Rasheed Wallace to its already strong core. Wallace’s arrival should hide the fact that forward Glen Davis will be absent from tonight’s lineup.

The Cavaliers will be without guard Delonte West, so Cleveland will be a little thin behind starter Mo Williams. Tonight should deliver a sneak peek at how LeBron James and O’Neal coexist on the hardwood. Who will get in who’s way first?

I’m rolling with the Celtics tonight to pull off the upset. Though Cleveland was remarkable at home last season with a 39-2 record, I expect Boston to outplay the Cavaliers. Garnett and the Celtics have a ton to prove tonight.

Boston 93, Cleveland 88
