The 2nd Street Market Reopens

The 2nd Street Market, Dayton’s favorite place to buy local food, has reopened its doors. The market will resume its usual hours from Saturday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. During that time, artisans, farmers, and growers will be out every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The outdoor market pushed back it’s reopening due to COVID-19; this and the fact that its indoor space is narrow makes it hard for social distancing. While outdoor shopping continued in March, shoppers had to wear masks and those visiting had to keep social distance to ensure a household minimum. Masks are no longer required, but people who would like to wear one still can; there will even be disposable masks available by the entrance. People can still go indoors, but a majority of the operation of the market will be outdoors to ensure social distancing and to follow other COVID-19 guidelines.
