Weekly Shonen Jump’s best-selling manga series “One Piece” is going on a two week break according to an official post by the author’s assistants. The series, which originally debuted in the magazine in 1997, will return to publication next month.

According to a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, author Eiichiro Oda is going on hiatus for health-related reasons. As a result of the decision, the manga will miss Jump’s 51st and 52nd issues. According to the official post, it will return for the magazine’s Dec 2nd edition. Its last serialized chapter was the series’ 1131st.

“One Piece” remains one of Weekly Shonen Jump’s biggest moneymakers. Of its 110 collected volumes, 107 have been translated into English among many other languages. In 2015, the manga would receive the Guinness World Record for most copies of a comic book series published by a single author. The record was confirmed in 2022, with over 500 million copies of “One Piece” in print worldwide.
