Expect September to be one of the hottest months for gaming with not one but several of the year’s biggest releases due to come out. Find out what to look out for in the list below.

Age of Mythology: Retold, Sep. 4

History and culture-lovers like yours truly were jumping out of their seats when a remake of the classic “Age of Mythology” was announced by Microsoft Studios. Now that its release is right around the corner, you can bet thousands around the globe will be diving into this battle between some of the most iconic pantheons from world history. The graphics, from what’s been shown, look gorgeous and the combat every bit as polished as “Age of Empires IV”. If getting lost in antiquity sounds fun, then this is the game for you.

Space Marine 2, Sep. 9

By far the biggest release sees Ultramarines Lieutenant Titus return to bring wrath and ruin to the Imperium of Man’s foes in “Space Marine 2”. Its been 13 years since gamers were introduced to this stalwart defender of humanity and this time he’s taking aim at a Tyranid invading force. But another crack at stepping into the shoes of an intergalactic hero isn’t the only reason fans are excited- Saber Interactive has packed the game with a massive amount of content that promises to keep players busy for dozens of hours.

Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics, Sep. 12

Fighting game fanatics have long prayed for a re-release of the highly popular “Marvel vs Capcom” series of games. For years, copies of them have sold for absurd sums of money. The release of this new “Arcade Classics” anthology is finally going to make these titles more accessible to the gaming public. Don’t miss a chance to experience some of the most beloved fighting games of all time when these drop on a new generation of consoles later this month.

Frostpunk 2, Sep. 20

“Frostpunk” ushered in a new era for city simulators thanks to its setting, lore, and survival mechanics. This much-anticipated sequel promises everything gamers loved about the original and more.

Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Sep. 26

In a unique spin on a tried and true formula, this new Zelda title puts gamers in the shoes of the titular princess. Like Princess Peach in many ways, Hyrule’s most famous resident has often stayed in the background, letting the heroic Link save her kingdom and thwart its innumerable calamities. Well this time she’s taking center stage in what looks like another hit on the Nintendo Switch.
