Toledo-born Ann Leckie received the Hugo Award for Best Series at the 82nd World Science Fiction and Fantasy Convention for her “Imperial Radch” trilogy. She was far from the only luminary honored in Glasgow as the event’s list of winners included the brightest stars in the industry.

“Some Desperate Glory” by Emily Tesh was named Best Novel. Naomi Kritzer did the short fiction double, taking home awards for Best Novelette and Best Short Story for “The Year Without Sunshine” and “Better Living Through Algorithms” respectively.
