The Montgomery County Fair will be making its rounds once again from July 10 to July 16. The week is full of fun for the whole family, including a rodeo!
The fair, which has been occurring for nearly two centuries, will take place at the Fairgrounds & Event Center of Montgomery County, located on Infirmary Rd. in Dayton. Among the sponsors are the Dayton Metro Library, the Dayton Foundation, and Stockslagers Greenhouse and Garden Center.
Admission to the fair is $10, with Tuesday, July 12 being half-price for veterans, first responders and senior citizens. Ride wristbands are $25 each – these attractions are open from 1 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 10 p.m. most of the week.
There are multiple opportunities for patrons and community members to compete at the fair. Want to hop in a vehicle? Enter the Tug-a-Truck or Demo Derby events – both of which have payouts! For those who may not be interested in the rough and tough and would rather watch, the fair is also hosting multiple 4-H events throughout the week.
The fair isn’t just about agriculture, either. There will be a “Gospel Explosion” on Sunday, July 10, a junior fair dance on July 16, and the D&D Records Talent Show and Showcase on July 13.
Some events will occur multiple times, including the pig race and the Cincinnati Circus. These not only happen more than once each day but also at different times (usually in the afternoon, evening and night). Patrons can plan their days and do what works best for them, their families, and their schedules.
