On the campus of Sinclair Community College, Tartan Cards allow students to do everything from buy textbooks to park their cars. But off campus Tartan Cards can save students even more money.
Movie theaters
The regular cost to see an evening movie at the Showcase Cinemas movie theater in Huber Heights is $10, but you can knock $2 off the ticket price by flashing your student ID at the ticket booth.
The Regal Hollywood Cinema in Beavercreek also offers a two-dollar discount to those with student IDs, but only Sunday through Thursday.
Nightclubs
Hammerjax Nightclub, located in downtown Dayton, has College Night every Wednesday where admission is free to everyone with student IDs before 11:30 p.m. Hammerjax Manager Kyle Bently said College Night also features a live DJ, $1.50 Miller Lites and $2 shot specials.
Atmosphere Nightclub in Centerville also holds their College Night on Wednesdays where admission, well drinks and Miller Lite drafts are all $1 each. Atmosphere also offers transportation to and from the club for $10 via their party busses that stop at Wright State University, lot B, every half hour from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m., according to the club’s MySpace page.
Wiley’s Comedy Club
Sinclair students receive free admission to Wiley’s on Thursdays and Sundays with their Tartan Cards. Comedians Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle and Ellen DeGeneres have all performed at the club, according to Wiley’s owner Rob Haney. Haney said via e-mail that Sundays are open mic nights for anyone interested in telling a couple jokes.
