America’s most iconic fictional city is returning to the public eye this month when “The Penguin” debuts on Max. Colin Farrell will be reprising his role as the infamous Oswald Cobblepot in the upcoming series. But that’s far from the only new show or movie hitting screens this month. Below are a few of the best you won’t want to miss.

Slow Horses season 4, on AppleTV+ Sep. 4

Gary Oldman’s career on the small screen truly took off when this thriller first made waves on Apple’s streaming service. Portraying spymaster Jackson Lamb, Oldman is joined by some of Britain’s finest actors in this delectable yarn.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, coming to theatres Sep. 6

The iconic Beetlejuice returns for another chaotic romp. Fans of the original will be happy to see the always-excellent Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder lead a cast of heavy-hitters including Willem Defoe, Jenny Ortega, and Danny DeVito. Critics have already had a ton of positive things to say about Tim Burton’s first major film since 2019’s “Dumbo”. Audiences can expect a fun, nostalgic ride when the movie creeps into cinemas tomorrow.

Agatha All Along, on Disney+ Sep. 18

Agatha Harkness first appeared in “WandaVision” and is the protagonist this time around. Whether it is anywhere near as good as some of Disney’s other Marvel miniseries is anyone’s guess. A character relatively unknown to TV viewers might give the team behind Agatha have a broad canvas to paint with. That, however, can be a double-edged sword. Will Agatha soar or sink? We won’t have to wait long to find out.

The Penguin, on Max Sep. 19

In “The Batman”, Matt Reeves crafted a dark vision of Gotham that was as fresh a take on the iconic metropolis as it was timely. He expands on his work in 2022 with a Max miniseries centering on the rise of its titular gangster. What trailers have shown suggests of tale full of twists, murder, and drama.
