My Voice: The Best Spots for Studying on Campus

The Downtown Dayton Campus has a plethora of hidden and not so hidden gems. Whether you’re looking for a quiet place to study, somewhere to take a nap, or a cozy spot to catch up, Sinclair has it all.

Second floor of Building 10 (Welcome Center)

With a very relaxing ambiance, mild background chatter, and coffee bar/dining area right next to a cozy, faux fire, Building 10 has a lot to offer besides the friendly faces of the Welcome Center staff. The third floor also has really nice study seating and comfortable couches.

Third floor of Building 12

Surprisingly spacious tables, not extremely comfortable chairs, but a good spot to eat lunch too. The space is not typically crowded. Plus, there are outlets all along the wall for your charging needs.

Third floor of Building 13

Comfortable, quiet seating with a view of the West Fifth Street and South Perry Street intersection. I often find myself watching traffic instead of doing work, though. Just past the classrooms on the same floor, there is less distracting, just as comfortable seating.

The Library

Sinclair’s library Has a variety of seating options on both floors, such as couches and tables that fit multiple people. On the perimeter of the first floor, behind all the bookshelves, there are extremely quiet study nooks.

Outside

During the warmer months, sitting outside and getting sunlight is a must! There are plenty of clean picnic tables around campus.
