Join us on Tues. Jan. 24 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for an interactive and inspiring conversation with Michael
Carter and Anita Moore. This event is open to students, faculty and the general public! Moore will be
interviewing Carter as they discuss and share their views on relevant topics such as diversity, equity,
inclusion, race, gender and religion.

Carter and Moore both play an important role in protecting Sinclair’s core values. According to Carter, one of the main core values that makes Sinclair what it is, is Sinclair believes that every voice should be heard. Whether it be the voice of students or faculty, they are the ones who make up the Sinclair community and each of their voices are equally essential.

Carter is Sinclair’s Chief Diversity Officer. In 2022, he received the Dayton Business Journals’
John E. Moore Sr. Lifetime Achievement Award for Racial Equity. His main role on campus is to act as
Sinclair College’s conscience regarding equity, diversity and inclusion. Carter shared some of what he most respects about community leader Moore.

“She has an outstanding ability to put forth food for thought that folks may have never considered before. She is very good at making sure what we want to do at the college isn’t just haphazard, but organized and meaningful.” said Carter.

When asked what Carter’s favorite part about the role he plays at Sinclair was, he answered without
question, “Getting to interact with a wide variety of people and hearing their stories. Getting to openly have those important conversations with people that you don’t normally have about race, diversity and
inclusion. Who could ask for more in a job?” he said.

Through joining in this inspiring conversation, Carter hopes that students will get the opportunity to
think about things that they may never have considered before and present a unique perspective. What
he is most looking forward to is not sharing his own thoughts but hearing the thoughts of Sinclair
students.

At the end of the conversation, there will be a Q&A session where anyone can ask Carter and Moore questions. This is an excellent opportunity to get some questions answered!
