Thanksgiving is near and I couldn’t be happier.
Every year, I look forward to the holiday season. I love spending time with my family with football on the television and a massive assortment of food at our disposal.
Maybe it’s just my family, but I feel we don’t get together very often. Outside of Thanksgiving and Christmas, my family might have two gatherings a year.
Thanksgiving is known as a day to give thanks to everything in your life. I would like to start giving my thanks a bit early this year.
Instructors
Meagan Ewton, the Clarion’s online editor, wrote a wonderful piece in the Nov. 3 edition about thanking your class instructors. After reading the column, I can’t help but give thanks to all of my current and previous instructors that have helped me get to where I am today.
Thank you.
the Clarion
I’ve been blessed with a wonderful staff this quarter. Every one has worked hard and helped the Clarion strive to reach a higher standard. I’m so proud of everything we have achieved this quarter and I look forward to continually raising the bar before the academic year ends.
Having a job(s)
I’ve been a busy guy this quarter, but I’m very thankful for it.
I take three classes on campus and I have three part-time jobs. Working multiple jobs has its disadvantages: mixing separate schedules and little time to sleep, relax, study and hangout.
I can’t complain too much, though. I know it’s a rough time for some families right now. It is hard not to think of families in need with the unemployment rate at 10.2 percent, as of October.
Sinclair Community College
I have explained my Sinclair story before.
Compared to the day I arrived at Sinclair, I feel like I’ve made a complete 180-degree turn. I have grown from the student who sleeps in class to one that studies and turns in work on time. It might not sound like much, but it was a big change for me.
I can’t help but thank Sinclair for setting me on a positive path toward my ultimate goal.
Give thanks
Do not be shy when it comes to giving thanks to people or places you care about. Unfortunately, Thanksgiving comes only once a year. Maybe we can take something away from the holiday season.
Maybe we can be thankful no matter the season.
