Celebrate the History of Locomotives at the Carillon Park Rail Festival

It’s that time of the year again join the Carillon Historical Park for its Annual Rail Festival Sat, June,25th 9:30 am- 5 pm and Sun. June, 26th 11 am- 5 pm. The Carillon Historical Park located here in Dayton is a 65- acre open-air history museum that holds a lot of Dayton’s own history within its walls.

The Carillon Historical Park has about 41 different attractions to see such as The Watch-Tower from 1907 which served Dayton as a railroad watchtower from 1907 to 1976, an attendant used to operate the railroad crossing gates from inside the tower manually. Carillon also houses The Locust Grove School Number 12, a one-room schoolhouse from 1896 that was taught by one teacher teaching grades one through eight.

The park also hosts the nation’s only fully operational 1850s-style restaurant and brewery that immerses guests in the sight, sounds, and smells of the mid-19th-century brewing process.

The two-day rail theme event features free miniature train rides, live steam engines, model trains, and historical displays. Train merchandise, rail vendors, and much more. The Carillon Rail Festival is hosted by the Carillon Park Rail & Steam Society.

Tickets are $12 per adult, $10 per senior, $8 per child, and children under two are free. The Festival is located at 1000 carillon Blvd Dayton, Ohio 45409, and is free to members.
