On Thursday, March 31 Sinclair will be hosting an annual event “Puppies on Campus” from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Students will have the chance to take a break from classes and stop by Building 8 in the stage area to spend some time with puppies and young dogs.

This event is hosted by 4 Paws for Ability and gives these puppies, who are later set to become service dogs, a chance to help learn how to socialize and interact with people in a social setting. Because this is an interactive event, wavier forms must be signed by those 18 years old and younger prior to attending. For participants over the age of 18, wavier forms will be handed out on site.

The event lasts two hours and there is no time limit of how long a student can stay. Students are strongly encouraged to bring a donation item from the wish list.

“Puppies on Campus is an opportunity to take a pause and let go of all kinds of daily stressors,” said Crystal Ford Bingle, Coordinator of Student Engagement. “I truly can’t emphasize watching students come in with looks of stress on their faces and as soon as they see the puppies, it’s like rainbows and sunshine come out. The look on students’ faces completely changes and they are always so thankful.”

Sinclair has been working with 4 Paws for Ability for several years and will continue to do so in the future as it is a win-win for both students and the puppies who are involved. The company itself was established in 1998.
