Online classes and learning are quickly taking over many colleges’ traditional in-class learning due to COVID-19 and everyday busy life schedules.
Sinclair is one of the many colleges that quickly adapted to changing times and was successful in aiding students to further their education whether it was in person, online, or hybrid learning which is a mixture of online and in person.
Newsweek and Statista recently recognized Sinclair Community College as one of America’s Best Online Learning Schools. This was based on an online survey taken by students across the United States who have enrolled in online courses to help people earn a degree and or certificate to further their education.
Out of the 150 colleges and universities that were recognized, Sinclair was ranked 104.
“This designation is especially meaningful because it reflects the positive experiences of students who have benefitted from the innovative work of Sinclair’s eLearning Division,” said Dr. Christina Amato, Dean – Sinclair College eLearning Division.
Sinclair’s eLearning Division is the recipient of numerous awards, including Ohio’s Best Online Community College Programs by Premium Schools in 2021, the Innovation of the Year through the League for Innovation, Bellwether, AECT HERO Award, and ITC’s Excellence in eLearning Awards.
Sinclair’s online courses are also transferable to a four-year college or university just like in-person classes. There are 61 fully online programs that are currently offered at Sinclair, along with over 300 courses taught online. These include general education classes and many specialized programs, such as Business and Computer Information Systems, Health Information Management, Health Sciences, Computer Information Systems, Criminal Justice Science, Management, and more.
In the survey, Statista asked over 9,000 different students between July 26 and Sept. 13, 2021 which college they attended online and to rate their experience based on different standards and criteria. They were also asked how likely they were to recommend it to other students. View the Newsweek rankings here.
