On March 2, Starbucks released a new addition to their non-dairy alternatives, Oat milk. This creamy, tasty alternative to dairy resulted in new menu items being added, including the Honey Oat Milk Latte and the Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso. As a barista myself, I’ve put together a review of how all of the new menu items taste.
Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso
The Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso I’ve found to taste like brown sugar and oatmeal. It is a wonderful new addition and makes for a great morning cup of coffee. Both this drink and the Chocolate Almondmilk Shaken Espresso come with 3 shots of espresso for a grande, but it is sure to leave a delicious and sweet flavor.
Chocolate Almond Milk Shaken Espresso
I’ve personally found this one to be one of my favorites. If you’re a fan of chocolate-covered almonds, this drink is for you. This beverage is made similarly to the Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso. Instead of Brown Sugar Syrup, it contains Malt Powder. It almost tastes like a chocolate malt from United Dairy Farmers but with coffee for a delectable combination.
Honey Oat Milk Latte
This is such a creamy and tasty hot drink. It is not as sweet as I expected it but still provides a wonderful Honey favoring. Oat Milk is steamed very well to allow for a very creamy texture, tasting of honey and oatmeal. The honey is what makes this drink sweet, as it enhances the unique flavoring.
These are some very interesting drink combinations, and one (or all) will be sure to be very tasty. I hope you will go to Starbucks and try one of these delicious drinks!
