The Lady Pride Volleyball team (3-27) took another disappointing lost, this time against Edison Community College on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at Sinclair Community College. Edison won the first two sets of the match decisively, but the Lady Pride lead 11-6 early in the third match.
Edison fought back against the Lady Pride and eventually took a 20-19 lead and eventually won the deciding set 25-21.Lady Pride coach K.C. Gan said that the difference between the first two sets and the final set was that the Lady Pride were playing “their own game.”
“That’s how they should always play,” he said.
Lady Pride’s Amanda Blake said that it took awhile before the team was able to “open up.”
“Once we (open up) we play really, really well together and we play like the team I know we can be,” Blake said.
When asked about how the Lady Pride are able to continue to play hard throughout a disappointing season, Blake said it’s the love for the game that drives them.
“We come out here, we bust our butts at practice, so we might as well come to the games and keep on going,” Blake said.
